Every Domain name uses a naming system called DNS (Domain Name System) in order to resolve the name of your website (Domain) to the system of numbers called IP Addresses that the whole internet is built on behind the scenes. In order for your domain to know that your website is hosted with GearHost, it will need to point to the correct "Name Servers" or "DNS Servers" that contain the correct DNS records to point your domain name to GearHost.
Changing Name Servers
Domain Registered with GearHost:
If your domain name was registered through GearHost then you are in luck, and the Name Servers for your domain are already pointed to GearHost.
Domain Registered Elsewhere:
If your domain name is registered elsewhere or your site has been hosted by another company, chances are that you will need to change the Name Servers for your domain to point to GearHost. The steps for changing Name Servers on a domain are different for every registrar. If you are unsure of how to change yours, feel free to contact GearHost support and we would be more than happy to assist you with figuring out the process or transferring your domain name to GearHost.
The two Name Servers for your CloudSite Account can be found below. Making this change will point your domain name to your CloudSites account and will make your site and email hosted with GearHost live!
