Application Directories are required to run ASP.NET applications in a folder under the root of a website. For example if you wish to run an application such as DotNetNuke under your domain name but not within the root you would need to create the folder that has the DotNetNuke files within it as an application directory. To get a better idea of how this works, here is a good example.
You have a domain name called example123.com and within the document root of the domain a folder named "dnn" where you have uploaded all of the DotNetNuke files. The URL would look like http://example.com/dnn. Since DotNetNuke is an asp.net application you need to configure the folder as an application directory. This is needed for any ASP.NET application that does not reside in the root of the domain.
How to convert a Folder into an Application Folder:
You can convert a folder into an Application Folder by doing the following process in myCloud v2™.
2. Select Domain Manager
3. Next to the domain select Manage
4. From this menu select App Folders, and then select Create New Application
5. Expand the directories until you see the desired folder, select the folder and click Create New Application Folder
Just repeat steps 4-5 of the above process for each sub-folder you need to convert into an application.
